Wrinkles and lines

Hyperdynamic lines occur mostly in the upper face due to contraction of the underlying muscles:  forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet.  Static lines develop in any area of the face, including the cheeks and around the mouth.  There is a progressive loss of fat as the face ages, resulting in volume depletion and wrinkling of the skin.  Excessive sun exposure and smoking exacerbate these processes, resulting in a loss of collagen and elastin and skin that is loose and crepy.  At Venus Medical, we perform  treatments with the following benefits:

Our treatments include:  

1. BTX muscle-relaxing injections: Extremely quick, safe, and effective, this is the most common cosmetic medical procedure in the world.   Tiny doses of BTX are injected precisely into the muscles that cause the lines.  Over two weeks, the muscles gradually relax and the lines smooth, providing a natural-looking result.  The common areas indicated are upper face lines and crow’s feet.  Dr Prendergast also uses this product to relax lines around the mouth, and for horizontal neck lines.
2. Fillers:  Temporary and long-lasting natural fillers soften lines instantly. Injections are placed carefully at various depths in the skin depending on the nature of the line.  Hyaluronic acid fillers are clear gel products that consist of a molecule found naturally in the skin, eyes, and joints.  At Venus Medical we use a range of hyaluronic acid products, as well as longer-lasting fillers such as calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse).  A local anaesthetic injection is used before the treatment to ensure it is a totally painless experience.
3. Fractional CO2 skin resurfacing: This advanced laser peel removes fine lines, providing dramatic results in just one week.  Collagen stimulation improves within 2-3 months as the skin tightens.  The whole face is numbed prior to the treatment for maximum comfort.
