Dr Peter Prendergast is medical director at Venus Medical and is recognised as a leader in the field of aesthetic medicine, both in Ireland and abroad. He recently co-founded the Irish Association of Cosmetic Doctors (IACD) to help regulate the cosmetic industry in Ireland so that patients can source experienced cosmetic doctors and reputable medical clinics.  He is the Irish representative of the IACD at the European Committee for Standardisation in aesthetic surgery services.

Dr Prendergast is currently President of the European College of Aesthetic Medicine, an organisation that trains doctors  in Europe and Asia in basic and advanced rejuvenation techniques. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors, the International Society of Lipolysistherapy, and numerous other international societies. He is a Fellow of the American Academy for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the highest level to which members can aspire.

Dr Prendergast was the first in Ireland to perform the advanced VASER liposelection procedure for body contouring and is the only official VASER instructor here, chosen by Sound Surgical Technologies to train doctors globally. He was also the first to perform the Serdev method of scarless thread lifting and was one of the first doctors in Ireland to perform Macrolane™ injections for non-surgical breast enhancement.

As part of Dr Prendergast's professional development, he co-authored the Postgraduate Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine for Leicester University, the first diploma of its kind.
